Class of 1970
Brown, Tom - E-mail: doetom@aol.com
Currently living in Las Vegas. Visit the Bishop area at least twice a year for vacation in June and October. I stay at Baker Creek campground outside of Big Pine. Come by for a visit.!!!!!!
Charlton, Baer - E-mail: wood_baer@juno.com
My professional bio reads "internationally recognized, award winning Professional Picture Framer of over 35 years in the business." Hardly begins to describe the E-ticket ride that has taken me and my wife of 15 years to four continents and dozens of places that I never knew existed in 1970.
I pretty much split my time between retail picture framing, representing four companies in Oregon, Washington and the Internet, writing, lecturing, teaching, woodworking and then going home to cook dinner. I recently had one of my historical reproduction (15c) frames hanging in the Getty Museum in LA, and now talking with two other international museums.
My wife is the International Director of the "New Pet Parent Program" for Banfield, the Pet Hospital [largest vet hospital in the world, in 628 PetSmart stores]. Bailey, our canine daughter is the poster child for the Hospitals. She shares the house with three feline sibs, and a grandmother (my MIL), and us in Portland, OR.

Landis, Terry - E-mail: twlandis@tmcc.edu
Hi everyone! This is so cool to finally find a BUHS alum page. Many thanks to Ken Deboy for this wonderful opportunity. After graduating in '70, I attended Pasadowner City College and received my A.A. in Telecommunications. I then continued at Sandy Ego State and received my Bachelor's in Telecommunications and Film. I began work on another Bachelors in Journalism when I received a job offer from the General Dynamics Corp, who were looking for a film maker.
Things worked out extremely well for me there and I was the director of photography for 15 years. During that time I was associated with such product lines as Ohio Class Ballistic Missile Submarines, L.A. Class fast attack subs, F-16, numerous air-to-air missiles, M1-A1 battle tanks, and my "home" programs, the Atlas launch vehicle and the Tomahawk Cruise Missile. I also had the incredible opportunity to fly with the Navy for 6 years in attack jets as a contract air crew. We apparently did a great job with those products because the Evil Soviet Empire folded it's tent------and about 93,000 of us were presented with "new career vistas" (i.e. laid off!) But that was OK. My wife, Kit, and I moved with our 2 boys, Max and Austin, to Reno, where Kit is the manager of the Operating Room at "Our Lady of I-80" (Saint Mary's) and I am the Media Specialist at Truckee Meadows Community College where I am responsible for more than they should have made me.....
Anyway--I would always welcome contact with any other Broncos and hope to hear from you! twlandis@tmcc.edu

Snyder, Joanne Lobeski - E-mail: jsnyder@shastalink.k12.ca.us
I've been teaching math and art classes at Mt. Lakes High School north of Redding California for the last six years. Before I started teaching, I spent 10 years working as a computer technician building computers and providing customer support at a local computer corporation.
My husband Bob and I have been married for 16 years. Bob is a guitar player who has played on several records as well as provided the sound track for a movie.
My brother Louie Lobeski (class of 69) lives 3 miles from me and is a charge nurse in the emergency room of a local hospital. My sister, Dr. Stephanie Lobeski Eatmon and I correspond daily by e-mail as she lives in Anaheim with her husband and two children, and teaches at Long Beach State University.
I remember watching the movie about Jill Kinmont called "Other Side of the Mountain" with my sister years ago. We both cried when we saw the opening shot of Mt. Tom filmed from our bus stop in Round Valley. In my heart there is no place on earth as beautiful as the Bishop area. When I tell people where I'm from, they always say something like "Oh yes, Bishop. Isn't that down by Victorville someplace?" Thank you Bruce Routt for telling me about this website. Thank you Tom Getts for your efforts.
Williams, Ted - E-mail: twilliams@qnet.com
I am still living in Bishop. I raised twin daughters here who now live in Oregon. My work here in Bishop has mostly been in the media: 10 years at KIBS/KBOV and 11 years on Bishop’s cable television station as Weatherman and News Anchor. In 2003, I was honored by being elected Inyo County’s Third District Supervisor. I am one of the lucky ones to be able to make a living here in this beautiful land.

Baker, Mary (Hemler) - E-mail: marysharon54@hotmail.com
Hey, you guys! It's Mary Hemler Baker and I just wanted to have a contact for anyone who is interested! Other than some college in
Santa Cruz, I've continued to live in wonderful Bishop. Four years after having my beautiful daughter, Megan, I married a special man,
Chet Baker, from Monrovia, CA and had two more beautiful babies, Annaliesa( 1977) and Seth( 1980). I was a "professional mom" for 30
years by choice, doing lots of volunteer work, coaching sports, "4-H"ing, teaching reading, serving on the BUHS school board and just
loving my life. Now I'm a proud grandmother of two sweet little girls, Sloane, 3 and Harper, 1 and enjoy lots of leisure time with my
beloved husband. I'm looking forward to planning (once again!) our class reunion in 2007, although Rod Swanson, Bob Church and Fred
( Lloyd) Phillips are supposed to be in charge, instead of Dorothy Cleland Dessauer! If nothing else, it will be a LOT of fun!
For anyone interested, my email is marysharon54@hotmail.com and my
mailing address is:
Mary Baker
630 West Elm Street
Bishop, CA 93514
And I have to tell you, I remember EVERYONE and am truly interested in hearing about your lives!
Hope to see you at the next reunion! With much love and happiness!

Dodd, Wyman - E-mail: 4dodds@thegrid.net
After graduation I attended West Hills Jr. College in Coalinga, Ca., (I played 2 seasons with the Falcons)then was recruited to Fresno State to play football for the Bulldogs. Unfortuately I didn't play that much after I received a knee injury in practice and had two major knee surgerys. The best part of college life was meeting and playing with so many guys from so many places. I made many friends from all over the United States.
I met my future wife (Ellie) at Fresno State, she is from Kingsburg, Ca. approx. 25 miles south of Fresno. We married in 1976 and settled in Kingsburg. We celebrated our 26th wedding anniversary last October. We have two children; Hayley is 21, attending Fresno State as a liberal studies major and hopes to teach school one day. She is getting married in September 2003. Blake is 19 years old and is a freshmen at Reedley College. Major undecided but is very mechanical, loves to lower and raise trucks.
After Fresno State, I landed a job with a Caterpillar dealership (Quinn Company) in Selma, Ca., I have been there for 25 years, I am a master diesel mechanic, currently I am in the field working with diesel generators and engines.
My mother still resides in Bishop along with Aunt Emily and Uncle Fish. I still have many cousins and 2nd cousins living around and near Bishop. We get to Bishop about twice a year to see family and friends. It's always nice to make a trip from the Central San Joaquin Valley (Tule fog) in January to see the clear blue skies of the Owens Valley.

Has anyone seen or heard from Jim Mires? If you see him tell him he missed at great 30th class reunion last August 2002. Hope to see him at the next one!

Koontz, Kerry - E-mail: KxKoontz@aol.com
Info: A few ups and downs along the way - but it all works out. Spent quite a few years at Cal Poly - SLO working on an Industrial Arts teaching credential and a Masters degree. Worked at construction and cabinetry for several years trying to stay alive while waiting for a teaching job back in the Owens Valley - one finally did.
Work at Big Pine Schools and I love it. It has the small town atmosphere that Bishop has outgrown in some ways. I teach a variety of voc/tech subjects but have grown into computer-related areas - repair, systems administration (just enough to be dangerous), etc.
I finally married in my late 30's to a great lady named Sharon and inherited a wonderful daughter (though then she was 13 and slightly less than wonderful!) named Jennie. She honored me by asking me to adopt her when she was 20. Needless to say we get along pretty good now. Jennie married a local guy, Dan Kloiber, who joined the Navy. They are based in Charleston, SC. for 3 more years
Sharon and I are about to start building our second house here in Big Pine. Finally move out of my bachelor box. Pretty easy going here but once in a while we crave the excitement of the "big" city and head to Bishop for dinner and a movie. Life is good!
Olsen, Janeen Bartholomew - E-mail: jbo@spdesign.com
Married, living in Draper, Utah, with 2-sometimes 3 - children! (one in college who can't decide if she's home or away!) Still get to Bishop on occasion...and miss our mountains, although Utah has some that come pretty close!

I live in Socorro, New Mexico, and am a professor of hydrology at New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology (also known as New Mexico Tech). My wife Lois and I have two boys, Andrew and Geoffrey, now in their early teens. I still visit Bishop frequently, mostly to do geological research in the area. I have published quite a few scientific papers on the glacial geology and hydrology of the area, so contact me if you're interested.

Trevino, Elizabeth Pye - E-mail: orderavon3@msn.com
I have been married for 27 years (as of June 2001) to Mike Trevino, who I met in Lancaster. We ended up moving to VA in 1994. Since there was a job here. We like it but REALLY miss those mountains of Bishop.
Our youngest moved here while still in diapers so all of CA is new to her. We were able to visit CA & Bishop Oct. 2001. They sure have moved some of the old stores around! So at least now our youngest got to see where mom spent her high school years.
If there is a reunion sometime let me know so we can plan to come.

We have a terrific son, Richard William (7), and a beautiful daughter, Jaime (4). Delmar, Shan - E-mail: SFDELMAR@prodigy.net
Although I left Bishop after our freshman year, I still call it my home. Actually, my brother, Delson, and I graduated from Santa Ynez Valley UHS near Santa Barbara. I elected to attend the Naval Academy (as did Jack Knox) while Delson attended Multnomah School of the Bible in Portland, OR. I am now retired and recently completed my RN certification in Pennsylvania where my wife and I currently reside.
I am working at the Melmark Home, a home for medically fragile mentally retarded individuals. FANTASTIC JOB and so rewarding. Delson and his family are living in Mt Shasta. I have four kids (ages g15,g13,b11, b9) and a large milk bill. We are planning on traveling to Bishop (first time since 1976) this August. Boy am I looking forward to it. It sure would be nice to see some of the people I grew up with. Great page...
Hagerty, Michael - E-mail: mhagerty@arizonasown.com
I've been married since 1988 to Barbara, very nearly a Phoenix native. We have two children, Amy, born in 1991, and Andrew, born in 1993.
Like Wayne Clement ('63), Tom Getts ('67), Roy Mayhugh ('69), Von Tatum ('70), Mike Morris ('71), Robert Coffee, Ted Williams (both '72), and Beth Averitt ('74), I worked my way through BUHS at KIBS (now KBOV) radio (1971-1974).
Since March of 2002, I’ve been the producer and host of the Autoshow with Michael Hagerty, a weekly half hour program featuring reviews of new cars, classics and automotive news on AZ-TV, an independent television station in Phoenix. I’m also the promotional voice and on-camera talent for AZ-TV. And, in the fall of 2003, I was promoted to Director of Programming and Promotion. Our website is at www.kaz.tv
Two years of seven-day weeks forced me to give up my weekend and fill-in talk show host slot on Newsradio 620, KTAR, (which I’d held for four years)…but I keep my love for radio alive as a charter contributor to the Reel Top 40 Radio Repository...an archive of classic top 40 radio (remember cruising Main with KFRC, KHJ, KKDJ , 10Q or Wolfman Jack on XERB playing on the car radio?) in RealAudio at www.arizonasown.com
In between BUHS and AZ-TV, I've been in San Luis Obispo(at KSLY radio), come home to Bishop for two years to help Roy Mayhugh start KIOQ-FM (now KIBS) in his garage, then left Bishop for good(at least so far) in 1976 for Ukiah(KUKI radio), Reno (KOLO radio and KTVN-TV), Las Vegas(KTNV-TV) and Phoenix (arriving at KTVK-TV in 1986).
This website has helped put me back in touch with a lot of people from BUHS over the years. I'm happy that Ken Deboy has agreed to keep it running... and we all owe Tom Getts a big "thank you" for this site... which he conceived and launched years before Classmates.com, Gradfinder or any of the commercial alumni sites, and which I think is clearly better than any of those.

I graduated from BUHS in 1974 (Rah!). I went on to California State University, Fresno, where I graduated in 1980 with a Master's degree in rehabilitation counseling. I am currently self employed in beautiful downtown Clovis and do rehabilitation counseling, vocational expert testimony and am embarking on a new service in mediation and conflict management. I recently completed a 15-unit certificate program at Fresno Pacific Graduate School in Workplace Conflict Management and Peacemaking.
I have been married since July, 1984 and have a (step)son and a granddaughter who turned 6 in December, 2002. My wife recently completed a Master of Social Work degree and is a counselor in a domestic abuse program in Fresno.
I still play guitar and am active in the worship music ministry of Calvary Chapel of Clovis. Up to a year or so ago, I had not played consistently for some 20 years, but my fingertips have really toughened up by now!
I look forward to the next reunion and seeing many of you that I have not seen in such a long time. It's sometimes hard to believe it has almost been 30 years since we graduated! And we thought we would never grow old! Hah!

I have been married since '81 and have 1 ea Girl and Boy.
I left town before turning 19 and have been back only to visit. I am Vice President of one of Orange County's (CA) leading Precision Sheet Metal Manufacturers. We build computer components for the industry. Things like chassis, panels, brackets. Many used for power supplies and for switching systems like Lucent (ATT) or network equipment. Have been in the field and at the same company 20yrs now.
I love computers and wrote the tracking system for the shop I run.
I had a good time at the 20 year reunion, and haven't heard a word about the 25th. It was good to see all of you, and for those of you who still live in Bishop, you could not be giving your kids a better place to be from.
I still claim to be from Bishop, even though I started there in sixth grade. You were a tough crowd to get close to, but the last few years were a blast! I vacation there annually because my wife and kids like to get away and "slow down." That's Bishop!
I still play Drums, Piano, Guitar, and still sing terrible.
Would like to hear from some of my ol' friends! Email me!

Hello Class of 1976; Tom Ditty here. I am currently living in Pioneer, Ca.. We have truly been blessed. I am a Document Systems Specialist for large and small accounts alike, and own my own Xerox Agency. My loving wife Paula and I have been together now 20 years, and married for 16 years. We have 4 wonderful children (Elyshia-11; Sarah-9; Zach-7 & Jake-6); they keep us busy. I'm involved in the local community here; Chamber of Commerce; Native Sons of the Golden West, which contributes to the Cleft Palate Fund (Excelsior Parlour #31); and also Coach for 2 different Little League Baseball Teams (My son's, of course !). I attend as many field trips with my daughters as I can. For you former BUHS Band members out there, my oldest Daughter is playing the Clarinet at Pioneer Elementary (Tracy, Kathy etc...)! I visit Bishop at least once or twice a year. My parents, Jim & Jean Ditty still live in the same house on Rocking W Dr. (Married for 39 Years now !) My Brother Chris Ditty & his family, and my Sister Karan & her family also still live there. I can honestly say that Bishop is always on my mind. Whenever I feel too stressed, I picture myself on the Owens river, hooking a Native Brown, or at Crowley lake on opening day reeling in a Camaloupe or Rainbow, or running laps with Ed Patriquin in Football practice - NOT !. There are no better mountains in the world to me. There were always plenty of you supporters out there, that would come and jam with Armada. It truly is a great place to be raised, and to go to school with so many good people. See you at the next reunion ! God bless you all !

After high school, I worked at Bank of America for a time before heading with my ex, Lloyd Williams (Class of '77) to Southern California where I continued my banking career. After my divorce, I moved to Fresno, CA in 1984 and began a career in mortgage banking that continued until 2001. I have also lived in Ridgecrest and Visalia, CA. I have an adult son named Brad and an autistic middle-schooler named Aaron, who is a math genius. He wants to attend Princeton University. (My past math teachers will not recover from this revelation!) In 1998, I met my husband online and moved to the beautiful Willamette Valley in Oregon where I started a new career in office management along with challenges in becoming the matriarch of a blended family. In 1989 I met the love of my eternity, Jesus, and began attending Calvary Chapel where my heart is finally at peace.
Feel free to write! I've heard from many that have used this website and I have enjoyed each and every chat! Blessings to all ~

We had a great reunion this summer. It was nice to revisit the Mill Pond, fireworks at the airport and Whiskey Creek. It's been 20 years since graduation and most people don't seem to have changed at all. I enjoyed touching base with people I haven't seen for those 20 years.

We have a son named Matthew (age 16) and a daughter named Katie (age 13). I'm sure sorry I didn't make our 20 year reunion last summer. I had planned for ages to go but my job change came at the same time. Maybe 25?

Wow!! Reading the alumni directory sure has brought back a lot of memories. It has been a looooong time since I've been back to Bishop.
I am currently living in Sonoma, CA and teaching first grade in Santa Rosa, CA. (One of my colleagues, another first-grade teacher grew up in Lone Pine - small world!) My husband Roy and I have been together for 20 years. We have moved 15 times in those years. We have lived in Colorado (three different places), Montana, New Mexico, Arizona, Utah, Washington, Minnesota, Wyoming, and four different places in California. It's been a lot of fun. We have lived in Sonoma for five years and plan to stay until our girls graduate. We have two daughters - Melissa (13) and Kelley (11). In addition to teaching school, I spend the majority of my time shuttling my girls between soccer, softball, and volleyball games.

Hello All. This is a treat to walk down memory lane, reading about the current lives of people that were so much different when we were the BUHS Class of 1976. I have often wondered what happened to many of you and look forward to our next reunion. I still get to Bishop quite often both for business and pleasure, business with the State of California and pleasure fishing for those colorful brown trout int the Owens River. The mountains are still as beautiful as they were, the river is still fun to float a tube down, even bagpipes is still the same...... Would like to hear from anyone that will send an e-mail.

Update 5-23-02:
I continue to grow older, the gray hairs have begun to smother the brown, the joints fail to work as well as they used to, and my brain cells have to work twice as hard to remember the little but important things in life. Yet when I look in the mirror I still see reflections of the child that used to run freely through the fields of Bishop and stare up in awe at the mountains that framed the place we all called home.
Many years have passed since I have visited Bishop, yet the image, smells and sounds are still burned deep within my soul. The place and the people will be with me forever, no matter where I go in this world.
After a long stint in the fitness industry, I worked for several computer software and Internet companies, survived the rise and demise of the dot-com world, received my Master's degree from USF and continued to raise my son (who is now 15), I am currently working on my Ph.D. in Education (an emphasis in Instructional Design for Online Learning) and live in a small Northern California town on a lake in an environment that reminds me a lot of Bishop. I serve on the board of directors of the FG Syndrome Family Alliance and am the chairperson for their electronic resources committee as well as web designer and Webmaster of the soon to be launched non-profit web site. My son was diagnosed with this syndrome when he was 8 years old. You can visit the new site (to be launched in the beginning of June) at: http://www.fg-syndrome.org.
In my "spare time", I work for a law firm in Santa Rosa, currently redesigning their web site, helping to support their computer network and run their billing systems. I am also building a wooden canoe, making natural bath products and writing business and marketing plans for acquaintances who have small businesses.

Since Bishop, I have lived in Bakersfield, CA; Moscow, ID; Salt Lake City, Utah; Portland, OR; and Ontario, OR. I have called Ontario my home for the past 11 years after schooling and jobs allowed that settled down thing. Ontario is very similar in climate to Bishop however we do get more snow and the "mountains" are hills. Dan, my husband, and I have been married 21 years and have a daughter Jennifer (16 almost 17) and a son Daryl (13). We have been very busy with sports since the kids were 5. I had been practicing as a registered nurse for 12 years when I decided to go back to school in 1993. I received my Master's from Oregon Health Sciences University in 1995 and am now practicing as a Family Nurse Practitioner in a rural health clinic. Dan has been the Assistant District Attorney here for the last 11 years and now is running unopposed for the District Attorney's position. My parents still live out in Wilkerson Ranch in the house I grew up in. We try to get back to Bishop once a year. My brother, Brad (class of 1982), just recently moved to Las Vegas. We enjoy lots of recreational activities close to home including whitewater rafting, downhill skiing, hunting, and fishing, Last May, we rafted the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon. What a ride! Looking forward to hearing from classmates.

I have built up some leave at work and will be visiting California from June 2007 - February 2008. Will definitely get up to Bishop for a visit. Hope that we are having a 30th Reunion.
I am planning to start working part-time in Australia in 2009, and this will allow me to live in California for 8 months of the year. Looking forward to getting back to California. Been living in Oz for 18 years now!! Time to get back home.
Hope to hear from some of you. All the best,

Don Zollars here, after living in Bishop since 1972 with the exception of 4 years in service of our country and 2 years of college I flew the coop. I now live in south central Minnesota. Yes it is cold here, we had 3 weeks this winter where the temps were never above freezing and with wind chills that put it into the sub zeros.
I came to Mn. to follow my heart, while I was in St Paul two years ago I met someone and May 2006 I moved here. The cost of living here is just a fraction of what it is in Ca. and the people are so nice it is like I have been living here all my life.
I would like to here from all of my old schoolmates (it keeps me from getting home sick) Looking forward to seeing all of you @ the class reunion this summer.

Butler, Mike - E-mailstaff@westerndesignstudio.com
After graduating I spent four years in the Air Force, two in Hawaii and two in Montana. After hanging out in Montana and running a trap line for a year I moved to Bakersfield Ca. to work as a lease foreman for an oil company and then went to work as an operations supervisor for a local refining company. I worked for this company for 13 years until March of 2000 when I hung it up to devote full time to a business I had started eight months previously.
I now operate a business called "Western Design Studio" (www.westerndesignstudio.com). I design and build rustic log furniture for the Western and Lodge markets using a unique type of wood that I bring in from Texas called Cherry Stone Juniper. We have a 4500 sq ft. showroom/workshop in Bakersfield Ca and are currently working to finish our web site. We carry not only our own products but also those of other craftsmen and women throughout the U.S. We are located at 3 950 Buck Owens Blvd. which is just the right place for us.
I have been married for thirteen years to a Bakersfield girl, Kasie (KC) and we have a beautiful daughter, Baylie, age 3. My wife along with helping in the building of our products also does all of our decorating for our showroom and acts as our in house interior decorator for our customers. Business has been ever increasing since we opened the doors and we hope to eventually move outside of the Bakersfield area to other communities with small satelite stores, maybe even Bishop eventually?
I have been coaching high school football for about five years now and it just so happens that my star linebacker and running back this year was none other than the son of Laura (Spoor) Horrisberger, Andrew. Her and her Husband Scott have done a great job with that kid. I run into Jeff Chudy on occasion when he is out scouting the local talent for Bakersfield College where he is the defensive backs coach. Janie (Webster) Brown, I think it's Brown, happened to stroll into the shop one day and I see Jerry Swift on occasion, (Auto Parts in Lake Isabella.)
Well enough already. I can be reched at staff@westerndesignstudio.com or if you are ever in the area I can usually be found at the shop, (661)322-5835. Come and see us.

I have been living in Lancaster, Ca. for 10 years now, with husband Dave and children Jessica (11) and Brian (9). I absolutely ADORE being a Mom. We also have two sons from Dave's previous marriage. Both are married and have children....which makes us GRANDPARENTS. Three times over!! Hard to believe isn't it??
Dave is a truck driver in the LA area, and commutes (yuk), and I have recently changed jobs. I sell slot machines over the internet ;-). It is close and allows me to work around the family's schedule.
I go to Bishop a couple of times a year to visit my folks - Wayne & Jean Hutton. I love visiting them on the ranch.
My brother Bob is living close, in Mojave.
Rhonda (Parker) Clary just moved to Las Vegas.
I really enjoyed both the 10 and 20 year reunions. Didn't get to talk to everyone and get caught up, but got to relive some memories even as far back as elementary school! Wow!!!
Hope to see more of some of you on future visits!

Hi, everyone! My husband earned his doctorate in Bilingual and Multicultural Education from the University of Colorado in May of 2000. We recently moved our family to Ellensburg, Washington, where my husband accepted a position at Central Washington University. We're located about 2 hours southeast of Seattle--Ellensburg is smaller and much drier! The area reminds me of Bishop in many ways.
Our girls, Lauren (10), Christina (8), and Melissa (10 months) keep us busy. I'm enjoying a reprieve from teaching full-time, and will be teaching piano part-time for the next couple of years! We heard rumors of a 25 year reunion being planned--involving other classes in the late 70's. Hope you're happy and healthy in your pursuits!

Hi everyone! I'm the shorter Scott Smith. After Graduation '78, hung around a few years (whew-- some stories there ), went to Santa Barbara City College and became an X-ray technologist. For the past 14 years, been living in the Santa Maria area. Now living in Nipomo (just North of S.M.) about 15 mins from Pismo Beach and 20 minutes from San Luis Obispo. I live with my fiance, Mary Chapman, her niece, her mom, and two orange tabbie cats and one grizzled Aust. shepherd dog.
It's great to get online and see how all is coming along over in that incredible place. I meet more people who say we were SO lucky to grow up there and, of course, they are right. I think of the times had in BUHS (the last Senior Seminar class ),coming back after two years in Australia, Ski trips (skiing for a dollar !!!!!), Hot ditch, Senior ditch day, Cross country meets, etc.etc.etc..It really was pretty amazing.
My thoughts often turn to those who don't still drink the best water on earth (that is,the ones who are no longer on this plane of existence ), I know they'll have some things to say when we meet again.I sometimes wish they were still around; but, life can be really strange.... If you ever thought you were somehow "devalued" by your time in Bishop, as removed as it is from a lot of "modern society"; you are sorely mistaken--it has enriched you beyond belief. I don't get up there nearly often enough the last few years.
Hey,I never could be very concise!!
People I know about:
My sister Jennifer (class of '73) is still doing Bible translation work in the little West African nation of TOGO, raising two boys (Brian 7 and Mark 5) and enjoying the friends her and her husband David Rowe of Orono, Maine make over there and while on home furlough. They've been married ten years.
My sister Pam (class of '74) is living in the Claremont area and working at Claremont College as a History Professor. She is married to another History Professor (!) and they spend they're super busy time reading, researching, writing, travelling to complete the aforementioned while raising his son from a previous and their son (15 and 2 1/2 respectively).
Keith Spencer is an engineer with CalTrans in this Dist., living just S.E. of San Luis Obispo in the Edna Valley with his wife Jamie. I think they went to the recent 20 year reunion. We missed it---kinda bummed me out but it doesn't always work out.
Wayne Ferrell lives in Carpenteria (S.of Santa Barbara) I think.
Brett Anacker is still in the San Diego area, last I heard.
Brent Gray is living in Chico still, and doing a good business welding; he recently got his degree in engineering-I think.
Jerry Gonzales was living in Tehachapi and working at the Prison there.
Kenny Lloyd's little brother David(?) was working as an aircraft mechanic at the Santa Maria airport about ten years ago.
That's about it for now---whoever put this thing together THANK YOU and keep up the good work!!!

I moved my family to Bend, Oregon in the summer of 2005. Family includes my wife Lisa and 3 daughters ages 5, 7 and 9. The move has been great, getting back to a climate more like Bishop and less like Portland (where we lived for the previous 12 years). The girls all started skiing last winter at Mt Bachelor (20 miles away) and we’re looking forward to our second winter here.
I recently opened my own mortgage business near the downtown area of Bend. It’s nice being self-employed in a great area like Bend.

I won't make the 20 year reunion, but I'd love to see some photographs. My family (husband David, and two-year old son, Johnny) has settled about 70 miles from DC, in a lovely little community in the eastern panhandle of WV. David is a software developer, and I'm the Director of Human Resources for the same software company: http://www.ultraprise.com. It's a great life here, with just the right mix of chaos (work) and calm (community). I feel like I know more people here than I ever did in Bishop, probably because I recruited half of the town.
I've always wondered what happened to Juanita Smith. If anyone knows, please drop me a note.

Having long given up the pink Caddie for a more sensible set of wheels the path has been interesting and cool to say the least. After graduation I thought that working hard and making a living in Bishop was the thing to do. I did. And that worked for a long time. Most of you know that I am married to Allison (Boult - 1973) since 1982. We are now reliving our youth and paying for it dearly with two teens (jrs in high school)...The path from business also moved me out of Bishop after 30 years to pursue my college education. go figure...Anyway, the result of that is a Bachelor of Science in Biblical Studies and now currently the Senior Pastor of a new church in Elk Grove, Ca (south of Sacramento). I have not forgotten my roots in rock and roll and feature a great solid band and music every week in our church. It's worth coming...really! We are blessed! Would love to hook up with just about anyone from BUHS.

I and my wife Danine still live in Visalia, California with our two children. Barbara our 12 year old daughter is dad's joy and worry all in the same package. Riley our 2-1/2 yr. old son is a general menace to society, but more fun than ever. I work for one of the largest air conditioning service contractors in the state as an area foreman. My territory covers the southern 1/3 of the San Joaquin valley, with Merced on the northern edge and the Grapevine on the south. I get together with Gary and Steve Bardonnex (who also live in Visalia) every Superbowl for a real good time, but don't seem to see too much of other Bishopites very often. I am married and have one child. My husband is James Bell and is rapidly approaching the 20 year mark in the Air Force. My son, David, is almost 11, entering the fifth grade, loves Beanie Babies and Poke'mon cards, reading, NASCAR, and animals. I have been homeschooling him since the first grade because the public schools where we live (in New Jersey, of all places!) simply could not keep up with his thirst for knowledge. When he entered the first grade he was reading at the fourth grade level. The school system actually told him to stop reading so the slower kids could catch up.
Other than homeschooling, we also enjoy Revolutionary War reenacting. Yep, we are some of those strange folk who dress up and live as they did in the 18th century to amuse and educate the public.

Don't ask me why, but for some weird reason I decided to see if I could find anything about the 20th reunion for the BUHS Class of '79. I never imagined that I'd come across an alumni page. This is too cool! I got a real kick out of seeing names of folks who were part of my world twenty years ago (like Ed Patriquin and Evan Jones).
Even though I moved away right after my junior year, I've always identified with BUHS and the friends I made there. I hope that this posting encourages some of them to get in touch with me--we have a lot of catching up to do!
The last couple of decades have been full of twists and turns, some exciting, some frustrating, but all worth the price of admission. After hanging out in LA for a time, I moved to Tucson, Arizona to pursue a degree in music. A friend's tales of the Pacific Northwest brought me to Tacoma, Washington, and in 1987 I graduated from the University of Puget Sound with a B.A in music. Three and a half years later, I earned my M.A. in musicology from the University of Washington. In 1992, my wife Ann and I moved to the beautiful city of Portland, Oregon. (I'm glad to see lots of other BUHS alums in the Willamette Valley area.) Most recently, I completed my Master's degree in Library Science (I seem to be collecting these things), and I'm currently working as a reference librarian/cataloger at the Oregon Historical Society. In my spare time, I appear onstage with the Portland Opera Chorus.
Well, that's enough for now. I'd love to hear from any or all of my old band buddies (Mark Jackson, Julie Barton, Daryl Niewald, Peter Patriquin--where are you guys??!), or from anyone else who feels like chatting. Drop me a line any time!

Hello everybody. I left Bishop to attend Fresno State University...I earned a degree in microbiology(yeech) and then a teaching credential. I joined the Navy Reserve for 6 years to fill a patriotic need. I have been teaching 8th grade science since '87. 8th graders..talk about a fun, crazy, goofy, silly, terrible, and wonderful group of mutants....heck, I fit right in with them(they remind me of the opening paragraph of Steinbeck's "Cannery Row".
Somewhere in 1983 I took an Industrial Microbiogy class...we made cheese, sour kraut, wine, & beer.....I also met my wife in that course so good thing I was a micro major.
My wife Jan is a Fresno native and that's why I'm still living on this side of the Sierra. Jan is a medical technologist and works in the chemistry lab at Fresno Community Hospital. We have 2 sons (Nicholas and Anthony), age 5 and almost 6 (at the time of the 20 year reunion). Jan and I earned our pilots license in 1990 and are building a plane in our garage...that project slowed down with the arrival of the boys..but one day we'll be flying over Bishop. I am currently active in the local CENTRAL VALLEY ASTRONOMERS and Indian Guides.
Please send a me a note, I'd love to hear from you.

For those of you who don't remember me I moved to Bishop in the spring of 1978, I may have been there for a short time but I have many nice memories of my time at BUHS. I would love to hear from old friends.

Hello to all of my old friends. I enjoyed seeing everyone who made it to the 20 year reunion. The reunion committee did an outstanding job! We had a great turnout and I have to say, the people in this class have aged really well! For those of you who wanted to exchange addresses, please e-mail me. We had to leave early and I didn't get a chance to get your address before we left. I would love to hear from any of my old class-mates. I know there are few around here in the northwest.
My husband and I have a farm in Oregon. Most of the lawn seed that you buy probably came from around here. We live in the grass seed capital of the world. Besides growing fescue and rye grass, we raise beef cattle and both have full time jobs. My husband Tony is an industrial electrician (also a licensed electrical inspector) and I am a licensed contractor with my own window coverings business. We stay very busy!
I wish all of you the very best in life and I hope to hear from some of you.

I currently work for the Air Force as an Environmental Health Technician at March Air Reserve Base, CA. My loving wife, Shari, and I have three sons; Clayton (11), Douglas (10), and the latest Andrew (28-weeks). We spend most of our time keeping the boys busy with sports and other activities. I still visit Bishop every year to spend time with my mom, who lives in Chalfant Valley.

I am living in Wichita KS now.....
My youngest daughter has recently gotten married and has blessed the family with a grandchild.... He is the apple of Gramma's eye! *S* My middle son is in the Army...A military cop. My oldest son is attending a Christian college somewhere in Oregon.
I am the billing clerk/office manager for a company that hauls fuel to the local gas stations here in Wichita...It has been quite an experience learning about this industry.
I have discovered that I really like fast moving vehicles on a race track. A friend of mine and his son both are Flat Track racers here in Kansas and we have been enjoying the traveling on the circuit to watch and enjoy the racing. Flat Track Racing (for those who are clueless as I was) is on dirt tracks on motorcycles.... My heart races with the guys during every practice and every heat race and every main event.
I am also slowing starting to get involved with the Renaissance Fair out here. I went last year and had a wonderful time! All those knights and shining armor ya know!
I am still re-creating wonderful new dolls out of Barbie size dolls and have branched off into sewing for other dolls as well.If you are an ebayer, you can find my stuff (when available) by searching for my username, which is "leronis".
I am keeping my eyes opened watching for the next reunion....Hopefully I will be able to make it to the next one.

Hi, It took me months but I finally found the Alumni page! Yeah! I had a great time at the 20 year reunion. It turned out to be a very emotional experience. I know, any of you who remember me will find that shocking! But I am so thankful to everyone who worked so hard putting the reunion together and that I had a chance to reconnect with my past.
I live in St. Charles, Missouri ( a suburb of St. Louis) with my husband, of 15 years, David. We met while I was getting my Bachelor of Arts in Social Welfare at Christ College Irvine (now known as Concordia University). He was in the Navy. We met, Fell in love, and here we are 17 years later! We moved to Mo. to be closer to his family who are wonderful. We have 2 children Elizabeth (9) and Michael (6). (Elizabeth or at least being pregnant with her is the reason I missed the 10 year reunion)
I obtained my Master of Social Work degree in 1988 ( I know I'm still amazed by this fact!) and have worked as a Renal Social Worker since then. I love it. I get to talk and make a living, and my teachers thought my mouth would only be a hinderance in my life.
I have been very blessed to keep in contact with Ronda (Bird) Tanberg, Margie (Silberberger) Duerr('80), and David Sonke ('78), Well, actually, God just continues to bless my life. I have the opportunity to teach Sunday School for 3 year olds. I have a wonderful husband, healthy happy children, some really GREAT friends, and the list just goes on and on.
My sister Ann still lives in Bishop, but we don't get there often enough. Ilene lives in Everett, Washington with her 4 kids.
Well if you ever make it to the Mid west, look me up, I'm a pretty bad cook, but I can make you laugh!!!
